While other kids are playing Xbox. These future entrepreneurs are reading spreadsheets.
I am working on a project with friends from all over the US. Carmen Rojas of Rojas Consulting is teaching a class on entrepreneurship, called Entrepreneurs R Us, and she asked several of her vendors for a hand. The people is a web designer, a graphic artist as well as others. I am the content writer. The class consists of several kids 12-15 years old. How awesome is that?
The class has taken the kids through the basics of being an entrepreneur by creating a product idea, forming a brand image and a marketing plan and now the end of the class culminates with a presentation before an angel investor. How cool is that? For the project they decided on a phone case that had on-board speakers and could plug directly into a USB port or wall outlet for charging. See the graphic above for all the features. Once they decided on a product they learned about manufacturing, marketing , funding and how to collaborate. Carmen invited us to participate in a Hangout with the class to discuss marketing and that was very interesting. What a great group of bright and engaged kids!
Here’s what I need help with. We need to create a bit of energy around this project so that when we the kids meet with the investor its evident how hard they have worked, which trust me, they have.
This is all MAKE-BELIEVE but the lessons they are learning will serve them for the rest of their lives. So please take a few minutes and give them a hand!
